Professional Bio

Megan Hurtado Bloom became a copywriter due in part to a childhood obsession with this one insurance tagline, “It’s About Time”. And also because a famous poet told her to do it, and they were right.

She started out in the blog-o-sphere and moved into in-house marketing, and got a job with denim powerhouse Levi Strauss & Co. There she led email and CRM for Dockers.com (dad jokes, basically), and began managing a small copy team. Megan then worked as an interim creative director for indie apparel line American Giant, and as an editorial manager for behemoth Walmart.com.

Since officially starting her freelance journey in 2019, Megan has been lucky enough to work with clients big(ish) and small across a wide range of industries. Most often, she’s called in to create verbal identity guidebooks and email marketing flows, as well as art direction and creative marketing concepts for some of the smaller brands. Almost all of Megan’s freelance projects are the result of former colleagues who loved working with her plus a personal network that knows her for high standards and hard work.

Megan thinks in 360 and loves the variety of freelance life, but she’s open to explore something more exclusive with the right company. She still writes plenty of poetry.
