Marketing & brand writing
Email and social content, packaging, product taglines, brand advice
Babyganics was a really fun gig. The brand had lost two writers and needed someone to keep things going while moving their new brand voice forward. I love it when a job gives me a little bit of everything—it’s fun, and a 360-degree view helps a freelancer learn a company faster—and this was definitely that: social, packaging, events, email, whatever.
The topic/product was an intense choice, because I had my son at the very end of 2019. And then it was 2020, and then (like many new moms, in times both precedented and un-), I experienced the hardest 3 years of my life. So in 2023, my baby was a toddler and out of diapers, but there I was writing about babyhood, thinking about babyhood, focusing on a world I’d just barely survived. It might sound odd to say that writing puns about diapers all day was healing … but it kept me from drawing a hard line between where I’d just been and where I was.
And the people are lovely!
